Typically the adults usually only see one another again during court proceedings and while exchanging the kids for weekend visits. They generally don't want nothing to do with the other after they leave one another and have other partners.

as in have a nice conversation. of course they do. You both share a bond with a child. That child should have both parents communicating in front of them in a positive way. since you were toether you probably were fighting so it wouldn't be great for the child. but now that your apart it would be a good time try and start a friendship so that child knows that both of you can still be good parents even if you are no longer together.

To answer your question yes, my ex was messing around with his Kid's mom while we were dating. I guess it depends on the relationship the people involved with each other.
Some people do , Some don't, and Some of them want to kill each other.
