What does it say on the can?
I wouldn't, because dogs lick themselves and I'm sure DWO is not supposed to be ingested by humans-dogs-anyone...
That is what frontline and heartworm medication is for...
I wouldn't do it!

By Deep Woods Off i am assuming you are refering to the bug repellent spray. Understand i am not a proffesional involving this product. and do not intend for my response to be considered sound advice.
I would think that using the Off bug spray on your dog would be ok. It says on the can do not apply directly to skin. Dogs however are covered in fur which protects their skin. i would avoid spraying the face, or any areas that have exposed skin. I would bet our four legged friends hate getting it in our eyes as much as we do.
I would advice giving the dog a bath when you return from your trip, this way when the dog scratches itself it will not be able to transfer the bug repellant to areas of the body it should not be exposed. Last but not least, i would not use a whole lot of it.
The best alternative is to consult a vet. Giving the dog something like frontline advantics or another 3 month strong pest treatment may be a lot more comfertable and easy on your dog.
Blessed travels,
Silence

NO, do not use deep woods off on your dog. There are various chemicals in off that can cause serious illness and even death. go to your local pet store, they will have a mosquito repelent that will not harm your dog. one of the best products for dogs i have found is 'Saidies Choice mosquuito repelent for dogs' I find this to be a great product. I don't know where you are located but the company is based in Ontario.

Instead of using Deep Woods - check with AVON they have a new bug repellent that is 100% safe for both people and pets (my vet has even said yes to this stuff)

I can't say but once I read the advice of not using it due to them licking, it makes sense. However, ALL Frontline and the other flea and tick methods do is kill them when they bite or suck their blood. That's the only way the medicine can get to and kill the fleas and ticks, NOT KEEP THEM OFF in the first place. I'm long for that when they are running out in the fields the ticks won't get on them in the first place so they have them on them when they come back in the house!

No that is too much DEET for your dog and is toxic , try instead what I have used a natural citrus spray or Skin So Soft sprayed on your hands and wiped gently onto your dog, careful about the eyes.Nothing will work perfectly , like ourselves but it will help.

I don't think so that might hurt your dog and that is not a good thing. I would buy some of that at home treatment stuff that repels bugs.

I think you should call or write the company to find out. Or check with your vet - or both. Some things are safe for humans that aren't safe for dogs.

if you want the bugs to stay off your dog just use a little bit (like a drop or 2) of vanilla (real or fake, like to make cookies or cake) between their shoulder blades. My cousin does this with her dog and I guess the vanilla travels down their coat and they cant lick it and bugs hate it.
