My hair always looks frizzy and messy. When I just go natural people tell me I need to brush my hair but if I do it puffs out and looks horrible. What shampoo should I use?

PLEASE don't use pantene! High alchohol content encourages frizzy hair because it dries it out! The more you brush your locks, the frizzier it will look. Shampoo with a moisturizing shampoo, finish with a curl balm. Then leave it be. The more you play with it, the worse it will look. Serums, the lighter the better, and shgine sprays, will take away the frizzy look, and make you curls look healthy!

First, you do not need to relax your hair. Why is it that people recommend straightening wavy/curly hair all the time? As if that's actually a remedy. Yes, using a harsh chemical that can damage your hair is the best option for "frizzy" hair. Geez. Nothing wrong with embracing what you have naturally. All you need is the right products.

Anyway, try minimizing using harsh shampoos. Or just cut down your shampoo usage. Use a good conditioner and leave in. Frizzy hair can be a sigh of dry hair(hair lacking in moisture). A good conditioner/leave in chock full of natural emollients and humectants could be really good for your hair.

And please DON'T brush your hair, unless you are using a Denman or Paddle brush(and if your hair is saturated with conditioner), which helps increase curl definition, as opposed to pulling out the wave/curl.

I have wavy hair and I rarely use shampoo. Seriously! Most of the time I wash my hair with conditioner.
Huh? I know, sounds weird, doesn't it? But it really works. Conditioner contains cleansing agents. Otherwise, it would just sit in your hair like a big ball of grease.
CO or conditioner only washing leaves your hair clean, soft and shiny. It takes a little getting used to, but it is a great way to care for your hair.

Also, instead of using a brush, try a wide tooth comb. It will groom and smooth your hair without frizzing it out like a brush.
Embrace your natural wavies. Relaxers will only destroy your hair.

Well its not so much your shampoo but i would use Redken "Fresh Curls" Conditioner. After you are out of the shower if you want to let your hair air dry you should towel dry and add in an anti-frizz serum which will keep your hair from looking frizzy and dry

I don't think your shampoo is the problem. What you need is a product to relax your hair, and let the curls out. A "straightener". I don't know much about the process, but I think there is a product you can get from salons to do it, and there is also something similar to a curling iron that will straighten hair instead of curling it. Doing one of these will let your hair hang, instead of looking like a Brillo pad (sorry).
