Actually the first generation pieces do NOT support SACD and DVD-Audio. Truthfully both formats are dead. The systems do support Dolby TRUE HD. Which is for purposes, DVD-Audio. Meridian Lossless Packaging (MLP) the company behind DVD-Audio has signed over the rights for advertisement etc to Dolby. Other than that the 'old school' DVD-Audio is not supported and to conserve money the first gen Blu-Ray (atleast from Sony) will NOT support SACD.

How hi-res can you get when it comes to uncompressed audio which is featured on any DVD with DTS on it. Maybe more channels? Like speakers in other rooms to create a more 3D effect?
