You should be happy for him. Just because you think she's ugly doesn't mean everyone else does. Maybe everyone think you're pretty but he thinks your ugly. You shouldn't judge people based on their looks.

Become his friend. Make sure that he is really attracted to this girl whom you hate. If he is, then let him be happy. If not, make your move.
