If it comes from an animal then you can't eat it. This means meat, eggs, milk, cheese, non-vegan breads and cakes, yogurt, icecream. I really don't like that diet, but then again, if it's what suits ya to each his own. I perfer cheeseburgers douced in pig fat, and french fries fried in bacon grease.

Are you a vegan by choice or for health reason or others? Usually vegans do not take any animal by-products, not even dairy and eggs. So diet will comprise primarily of vegetables and fruits.
Those who were vegan by choice, will take dairy and egg.
I had friends who were so strict vegans, they even avoided onions, garlics and certain beans in their diet too. Seems like these will affect their bodily functions.
Eat what you like under vegetables and fruits category. And watch your weight to ensure you are not losing too much weight, if you are just starting to turn to vegan diet. If you must, include minerals and vitamins supplements in your daily intake to help you adjust.
Seek medical advice if you do not feel your usual self or fatigue easily or becomes less energetic than before.

A "true" vegan will not eat any animal product. Eggs, dairy (milk, yogourt, cheese, etc), and meat products are pretty much out of the question.
When it comes to basic vegetarianism, the only thing ruled out is meat. Most vegetarians eat dairy products.

You're not alone. There's a whole religion behind you, it is called Hinduism (780 million followers in India alone). Just ask any Indian and more than likley they will be vegetarian. Just ask them what you can and cannot eat. I think drinking milk should be ok. Most vegetarians in India nowadays egg and dairy products. They just don't eat meat of any kind. That's it.

you should just give up on life since you care more about the food your eating's feelings, than your own health.
