The one I know involves a wolf, a chicken, and a bag of seed. You can only transport one at a time in your boat. Wolf and chicken can't be left together and chicken and seed cannot either.
Answer: Take chicken over 1st and then go back and get bag of seed, take the chicken back across. Leave chicken there and bring wolf across and finally go back for the chicken.

it is actually a fox, a chicken, and a bag of corn food. first you take the fox and leave him behind to go get the chicken then you would take the fox and bring him back to the other side and leave him there and grab the bag of corn and bring that to the other side.
The riddle only says you have to transport them across the lake it doesnt say you have to leave the fox there when you go back to get the bag of corn. So in the end the fox stays at the side of the lake where he first started so therefore he transported the fox, the chicken, and the bag of corn safely
