If you lay down and have some one carefully iron your hair it works great. Just put a towel on the grond and lay down. Have the other person iron your hair. (Works best with longer hair)Then after you just have to go back and do a few touch ups and your roots, but that only takes a few minutes.

Do a rough blowdry first, get most of the moisture out, without a brush. Go through with a BIG round brush and straighten as much as possible using a product that protects from heat damage. To straighten the bend at the end of the shaft, use a flat iron, but only where it curls at the bottom. The bigger the round brush, the less curl you will have to straighten. Make sure to use a product that protects hair from heat, you will have less split ends, and healthier hair!
Hope this helps!

Hello - to straighten your hair faster, use a straightening balm while your hair is damp. Then using a blow dryer, dry is until it is just damp, but not still wet. Then try going upside down, and using a brush on your blow dryer - blowing the hair straight, keep the brush and dryer on the same section. Then when it is dry come back up - you're hair will probably be HUGE at this point, then using a straightener, take out the frizz and volume. Hope this helps!

If you wear your hair straight a lot, you should look into Japanese hair straightening. It's generally a few hundred dollars, but if you spend a lot of time straightening your hair every day, it may be worth it in the long run. Beyond that, there's really no quick way to get wavy hair to be straight. When you force your hair to go against its natural inclination, you're going to have to put in time and effort to get it to work and look good.
If you're not set on having straight hair and want a quick way to make your hair look good, you could let your hair air-dry wavy. There are a lot of good techniques for wavy and curly hair in the book "Curly Girl" by Lorraine Massey if you want to go that route.

dry it and put on a conditioning spray or gloss of some sorts. Section your hair and start from root to ends...doing a couple times. The smaller the section the better it will flatten out. I have curly hair and finally had to buy a really good one that heats up to a high degree which was expensive but soooo worth it. good luck

While your downstroking larger sections with the flat iron simultaneously spray a light hair spray to it.It will eliminate the need to go over it again and you wont have to hold in to the section as long.

You can use a hair relaxer with lye in it. I use a product called Optimum. It has a picture of a black woman on it. I am a white guy. Sometimes I feel funny carrying it to the check out counter. But the product works great and my hair looks nice.

Straighten hair while bent over so hair is flipped w. a paddle brush like this one: http://www.sephora.com/browse/product.jhtml?id=P115102&shouldPaginate=true&categoryId=C12672
Also, check out straight styling products- I use Aveda's "hang straight" but Frederic Fekkai has a good styling product that is called "straight away"
