Hot cocoa is often confused with hot chocolate, but hot cocoa is made from the cocoa solids, while true hot chocolate is made from whole chocolate.

Sometimes no difference but usually hot chocolate starts with heated milk with chocolate syrup or powder added. True hot cocoa uses cocoa and sugar added to either milk or water. I am sure ther are many other answers.

hot chocolate is the powder u get from the store that you mix with milk/water. hot cocoa is made from pure cocoa and you have to add your own sugar. hot cocoa has more chocolate cocoa in it (obviously), but i think hot chocolate tastes better because it is less bitter

Hot cocoa is more rich and more i don't now like a dark chocolate flavor i really don't see a difference but it's your taste

The area of the World you live in. Like, for example, Pop or Soda! Also hot chocolate is quite often store bought. Where as hot coco appears to be more often made with ingredients from home..It's all enjoyable, don't you think?? Happy drinking...

i make my own with a few tsp of powdered cocoa from hersheys and then the hot milk and sugar and then the tiny marshmellows but in a pich ive dropped a few swiss misses in a cup and added the mallows
