Certainly no better than it did. The will to win must be resolute and all measures to do so must be taken. Limited wars fought with too many conditions are a recipe for certain failure.

Like Kennedy's handling of the Bay of Pigs a failure!

Bay of Pigs Invasion, unsuccessful attempt in 1961 to overthrow the government of the Cuban premier Fidel Castro by United States-backed Cuban exiles. Increasing friction between the U.S. and Castro's leftist regime led President Dwight D. Eisenhower to break off diplomatic relations with Cuba in January 1961. Even before that, however, the Central Intelligence Agency had been training anti-revolutionary Cuban exiles for a possible invasion of the island. The invasion plan was approved by Eisenhower's successor, John F. Kennedy. On April 17 about 1300 exiles, armed with U.S. weapons, were landed at the Bahía de Cochinos (Bay of Pigs) on the south coast of Cuba. Hoping to find support from the local population, they intended to cross the island to Havana, but were quickly stopped by Castro's army. By the time the fighting ended on April 19, 90 men had been killed and the rest were prisoners. The failure of the invasion seriously embarrassed the Kennedy administration, which was blamed by some for not giving it adequate support and by others for allowing it to take place at all. Private groups in the U.S later ransomed the captured exiles.

very very good question. this is my opinion so remember you asked.

.If John F. Kennedy had not been murdered in Dallas Texas November 22ND 1963 we would have gotten out of Viet Nam much earlier, lot less military would have been killed and wounded, then Kennedy could have concentrated on the matters at home. Had all that transpired I believe the U.S A. would not be in the shi*t hole mess that we find ourselves so deeply mired in today. But if you ever get to Lyndon Johnson's grave site you can thank him as he was one of the leading factors in murdering John F. Kennedy. Oh and Herbert Hoover while you at it.Too bad Lee Harvey Oswald had to take the blame for the kill. With absolutely no gunpowder residue on his hands he still went down in infamy...enough said

Kennedy would have stayed in Vietnam for the duration of his career. We may have had a chance at winning, except he was a conflicted man, he pulled out of the bay of pigs invasion at the last minute because he was scared of the soviet response.

Whatever happened, you can be sure of one thing - both those Kennedy's CARED and paid for it with their lives. Maybe that's one small reason why our leaders don't anymore. They want to make everybody happy, including criminals.

Had John John wanted it, he would have had the Presidency handed to him on a silver platter. When he died, that's what most people were most hurting about him.

Ted Kenndy - is passing fantasy legislation. God help his legacy.

I would have somehow ended up becoming a hero that saved the 2000 American pigs flown to Vietnam for reinforcements.

I think the war would have been better accepted, he was a super salesperson. I am not sure if it would have turned out any different but it might have if more people believed in what they were fighting for.

...then he would have lived. Simple answer.

Contrafactual history is best left to scifi movies and novels. Why not simply focus in and deal with the political realities and political possibilities that we have here in front of us now, instead of historical could-have-beens?
