DO NOT WORRY! This is simply a reverse sneeze. Pugs do this all the time (and so do other dogs to a lesser extent). It definitely sounds alarming, especially when it goes on for quite awhile. But it is nothing to be worried about. It does not indicate a problem and is not harmful. If you are still a little worried, ask your vet about it over the phone rather than pay for an office visit.
Hope this was helpful!

does he have any discharge (similar to a cold in humans) or does the dog feel warmer than usual ? could have a cold, respiratory infection, something crawled up its nose...Definitely keep an eye on it. Also, check its gums to make sure they are still pink and not white or too pale. If the gums are pale you should see the vet asap since the dog might not be getting enough oxygen.

You should get your dog to a vet right away. He could have allergies. They commonly pick up around this time of year. Your vet could provide you with the proper treatment. If it seems serious he/she may be in some respriatory distress or may even have asthma.

That doesn't sound normal, is he panting? has he been running or playing? was he into anything like dusty areas, dirt? He might have a virus or asthma, watch him and if he doesn't seem to be better tomorrow take him to the vet.

Is his nose wet? If it is then that means he is not running a fever and it probably something that will pass like allergies. But if the nose is dry I would take him to the vet.

It's probably an inverted sneeze so my vet called it, my miniature poodle does this (it looks like he's having trouble breathing) he stops on his own most of the time, but when it's extreme I stroke him on his back and that calms him and it will stop.

My dog does that when something went up his nose or he's sneezing. No big but if he keeps doing it nonstop, bring him to a vet.
