He broke his arm and it was a rare humerus break that required surgery. How long after the cast comes off should he be o.k. to go to an amusement park? We have plans to go next week because we didn't consider stiffness or tenderness of his arm after the cast is off. Will he be o.k. if I prevent him from going on rides that will bump him around?

Honestly, I would ask the doctor his opinion tomorrow. However, depending on the rides that he goes on, he may be ok. Some rides will sling him around WAY too much, and the park might not be as much fun for him if he really likes those kinds of rides.

Like I said though..asking the doctor while you're there tomorrow would be your absolute best bet.

my son broke *both* his wrists & he saw the doctor every couple of weeks...X-rays to make sure the bones were staying where the Dr. set em. I never went in the office without 300 questions! Sooooo, ask the Dr.
My lil man was pumped to get his casts off & only said they felt alil "funky" AND he was skateboarding a week later. Oh one more thing the Dr. told us a chance for a re-break was greater in the 1st week of the casts off.
Good Luck!! I know you`re as happy as he is to get em off!..lol

ask the doctor, but hey you could always wrap his arm in a jacket or something should he get knocked about it may cushion some of the impact
