He broke his arm and it was a rare humerus break that required surgery. How long after the cast comes off should he be o.k. to go to an amusement park? We have plans to go next week because we didn't consider stiffness or tenderness of his arm after the cast is off. Will he be o.k. if I prevent him from going on rides that will bump him around?

ask the doctor for suggestions, and see how your son feels in a few days

Usually after the cast comes off it should be alright. They won't take it off unless it is totally healed. Don't worry, take your son to the amusement park and let him have fun. Don't shield him from another break. I have never heard of a child breaking an arm at an amusement park.

Ask the doctor when he gets the cast off tomorrow.

I would say that you should ask your doctor when you see him/her tomorrow. I really don't think that there are many rides at an amusement park that won't jolt him around, though.
