The two mother cats are related. They are mommy and daughter and both recently gave birth within three days of each other.

It is very common for nursing cats to nurse kittens from multiple mothers. The big problem is if they are in a rural setting and a new male cat becomes the ALPHA male in the area. If this happens the new ALPHA male will most times kill any kittens fathered by the previous ALPHA male. He will then will impregnate all of the current females in the area. This is also true of African Lion prides.

That won't be a problem. My cat came from a similar situation. Her mother gave birth to her on June 7 and her grandmother gave birth on July 1. As long as both moms are paying attention to the kittens it's ok. Just make sure one isn't ignoring them and making the other take care of both litters.

For some cats yes. Believe it or not! About 8 years ago, I found 3 kittens and they started hangin around so I kept them. Well those kittens had kittens then those kittens had kittens and so on and forth. Well I ended up with about 20 of them. And half those cats ended up feeding the others (not their own). It's sounds so weird but it's true. Some cats are just different. It freaked me out the first time I seen that. Being the fact that cats are teritorial and don't like another scent accept theirs on their kittens.

My cats did this too. The kittens were fine. I had to watch that the one didn't give away all her milk. She would feed her kittens and then go feed her grandkittens. Some cats are very good mothers. Some humans should take notes.

It's safe for the kittens, but you should get the mother cats neutered. There is a big overpopulation problem with cats, and adding more hungry mouths to Cat World isn't good for anyone invloved! :)

Yes. You will probably find them minding each others kittens too. Feral cats do this to protect their young from toms and other hunters while they are doing their own hunting.

That is fine, and absolutely normal, in the wild, female nursing cats exhibit this behavior all the time.

Yes, perfectly natural in the cat world.

It won't hurt a thing. Just make sure to even it out. You don't want all the kittens just nursing off one mama.

yes...it shouldn't be problem. Make sure the male cats are out of the picture. Cats can be more social then you would think.
