Usually it means nothing if the approval came in the mail or even if the dealership ran her credit over the phone. They can't sell a car over the phone so, the goal is to get you down there to work the deal. Don't believe it. !st find the car you want, 2nd drive it and 3rd worry about the financing. Above all don't jump into anything just because they say they've got you financed.

What can I say? First of all, there are a lot of dealers out there who approve people for loans. Is is a well known dealership? If it is not, I would not trust them. If I had to get a loan (which I work as hard as I can not to get one because I do not want to have to pay interest) I would get it through a corporation with a good interest rate and flexible plans.

P.S. Just my opinion.
