As a lady, I like it. The heck with women's liberation.

I appreciate when anyone holds the door open for me, and I try to hold the door open for others.

When I'm out with my husband, I expect him to hold the door open for me. I like that.

I still hold doors for women. I still open the car door for my girlfriend and let her get in. I still give up my seat for women if there aren't any left. It's not that I think women are weaker or lesser, but it is polite.

What I do wish is that more women would let guys actually be polite to them and not yell at a guy for opening a door or pulling out a chair for her to sit.

It depends on the actual situation.

* When going out - to a club or restaurant - I like it when my partner opens and holds doors for me.
* In the work place I have no trouble accepting it that some of the guys open and hold doors for me, but I open and hold doors as well for others, especially when they are carrying stuff.
* At home I enjoy getting pampered, but I pamper my partner in the same way as well.

Yes, I still hold the door for ladies. I was raised in southern Mississippi. I find it to be very basic common courtesy and respect. I still open the door for my wife as we get in the car.

I agree with you last sentiment. In all areas outside of wages, (which should be equal in all jobs) I have very high ill will for "womens lib".

I feel that men and women were created different for a reason.
One to work and one to nurture, Irregardless of how our society is now.

It`s a great feeling when a gentleman holds the door open for me and I make sure I thank him,and 9 times out of 10 he appreciates the acknowledgement, and we both come away feeling good about the gesture.

Yes, I like it and I also hold the door for other people too - men and women!

I do. And I don't think women's liberation has to do with this. Holding doors for a woman is a gesture of kindness and consideration. It doesn't mean I think women have fewer rights or are inferior to me, or weaker than me. I do it sometimes for men, too.

Yeah, I usually do. I always hold doors for my SO and she likes that. But I also hold doors for other people.
Lack of consideration for others is one of the things that makes the world suck. No need to add to the problem. Besides, being courteous is its own reward.

I like it, but I'm married to someone who holds doors, gives me his coat if I'm cold, walks closer to the street when we are out walking, all of that kind of stuff. Liberation has nothing to do with it. It's about consideration, and treating me like I'm special. But, it's also a two way street. I try to help people out and be considerate whenever I can.
