it is supposed to be "PEACE be with you." He/She is wishing peace to accompany you in your life.
In Islam, when we greet Muslims we are supposed to say "Assalam Alaikum" (which means "peace be with you") and someone answers with "walaikum asalam" (which means "peace be with you too")
