I used to use Soft Scrub with bleach to get things white again, but that was a while ago. I'm sure there are plenty more products out now. To clean inside the carafe, I would put ice cubes, lemon juice and salt, and it worked like a charm; maybe a lemon-juice mixture will clean the outside as well.

This is why I have turned to black appliances :)

Dab on straight bleach-be careful it doesn't run down the sides of the coffeemaker and able to get into the mechanics of it-will work to some extent but from own experience unable to get rid of coffee stain completely for ha soaked into plastic-can also shake on carefully comet , wet just a bit to activate then let it stay on for approx1/2 to 1 hr same with Oxi-Clean-if none work completely and it really bothers get a new coffeemaker and wipe spills etc right away so the stains don't set in.

Hi,
I have had to clean coffee pots etc. which have been in fires. Plastic when it gets stained is almost impossible to clean because the stain isn`t only on the surface . One thing you can try is a good industrial degreaser like 2100 or 363 ;be careful as it is powerful!!wear rubber gloves .Place the lid in water just covering it add about 1/4 cup of degreaser and let it sit .rinse after a couple hours if the there is a difference you can repeat the operation. The only other option is chlorine bleach .Do NOT mix these .Use them seperately and only after rinsing the lid and sink with clean water.remember working with chemicals to ALWAYS follow label directions

I had a white Phillips coffee maker too and had the same problem. I constantly scrubbed after use with baking soda, vinegar (once both at one time....dont do that LOL!!!!) I dont think it is possible to get it clean once its that far gone. I bought a new one (different make) with the same results but not quite as bad. The only staining is on the lid rather than everywhere.

The pot or the machine itself?
To clean old coffee out of the pot itself throw some ice cubes into the pot and shake them around. It scrubs the coffee stains right off.
If you are looking at the machine itself, try spray 9. Put it on a paper towel and rub it on. This stuff is great. It cleans everything. When you have cleaned it with spray 9, windex is great for keeping it clean.

clean your coffeemaker with vinegar. It will not only take off the brown color but will also help with any hard water calcium deposits built up on the pot.

Have you tried vinegar? The acid in it cuts through gunk quite well - It's also great for cleaning the INSIDE of the coffee-maker - put some in the water reservoir and run it through (obviously without coffee)

Try Baking Soda. I just saw aomething on TV about it the other day. It was taking coffee stains off of a Teacup but it should work. It's worth a try!!

can clean the pot and inside of maker by running vinegar w/ water thru a brewing cycle, then follow with clean water.

the lid of the coffee pot...is that what you mean? use hot soapy water and a scrub brush to get in the crevices....hope this helps!

feel the lid, if it feels slightly rough, the stain is a surface deposit, and something mildly abrasive and non-toxic like baking soda or tooth-paste will take it off, if the plastic feels smooth, like it did when you bought it, the plastic has been stained, you can try something like vinegar, but your only option may be to buy a new lid
