Dupont was trying to break into the rope market about 80 years ago with their nifty synthetic fiber. hemp rope was what was doing the job at the time, it was very strong, cheap. Dupont lobbied congress to get rid of hemp rope. it just so happened that only "evil" commies smoke the sweet mary jane, so might as well make it illeagle. dupont wins, and takes over the fiber industry (worth mega-billions alone), and big-pharmaceutical companies have an easier time selling their anti-depressants because we the people would go to jail if we smoked commie weed. just look at the studies going on today.....the private labs are concluding it a miracle herb, and doctors would love to perscribe i to patients. but the tax funded labs run by big-government says its still evil ganja.
