no...i dont think that it is bad manners to drink straight from the bowl. Drinking the milk straight from the bowl is what everyone in my family does. so no it is not bad manners to drink straight from the bowl it is like a tradition!!!!

While this practice is not for polite society or in the company of stranger is is acceptable when with family and other loved ones.
The trick is to not slurp loudly or drink while talking and drawing attention.

all answers (four so far) seem plausible to me. It is considered bad manners tho to drink milk as you describe I am afraid. (But, be daring.. defy convention.. you want to do it? go for it!) Who makes up these manners/rules anyway? desperate people in need! lol.. I say go for it.

im only 14 but at a resturaunt that would most likely but if u r at home and u got up out of bed sure why not who's stopping so sometimes yes sometimes no

I don't think so as long as you aren't slurping it or spilling it down your chin. I've seen people do way worse stuff than that in restaurants.
