No.
Source 1:
* 1 Cor. 12:7-11, "But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to profit withal. For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit; To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit; To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues. But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing to every man severally as he will."
* 1 Cor. 12:29-30, "Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all workers of miracles? Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all interpret?"
Not all speak in tongues because God doesn't give the gift to everyone. Speaking in tongues is not THE sign of salvation, but A sign. If anything, the fruit of the indwelling Spirit of God is listed in Gal. 5:22-23 is the sign of salvation.
"But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law" (Gal. 5:22-23).
Source 2: Was there a point in time when you surrendered your life to Christ? Was there a moment of brokenness when you recognized that you are indeed ungodly and cannot become righteous by your deeds? Have you invited Jesus into your heart and made Him Lord? Has there been a change so that you are no longer living for the world, but living for Christ. Walking in obedience out of love for God is evidence of salvation. Speaking in tongues is not.

NO it's proof of one possesed by demons.
Babbling incoherently has nothing to do with the speaking in tongues of the Bible. The reference in the Bible was that the disciples went out into the streets after receiving Holy Spirit,
and began publishing the Goodnews in the languages of the people in Jerusalem, during the festival. The result was 3,000 people were baptized that day.Thes days some thing shaking falling down, and babbling jibberish are evidence of Holy Spirit.
Yet they are dead wrong. Nothing up building is taught by this waste of time. Ones time would be better spent studying and reflecting on the deep things of God. And praying for understanding.

Everyone who believes in Jesus Christ, that He died and rose again and has forgiven us for our sins, can speak in tongues when they ask God for it and seek it from God. This doesn't always happen straight away as there are some people who need to deal with some issues before they can speak in Tongues.
Therefore how can it be true that you are not saved if you have received tongues yet.
Believing in Jesus is your salvation. Tongues is to edify you and to communicate with God in the Spirit because sometimes we cannot say what we need to say but our spirit does.
Look up a concordance on the Holy Spirit and Tongues. That should keep you busy for a while and ask God to show you the truth. He will not let you down. When we ask people , they can let us down but God doesn't.

No it is not. Some Pentecostal Christians believe though that the ability to speak in tongues is the evidence for "Baptism in the Spirit" (ie, being a Christian). So from their point of view, yes.
The majority of other Christian denominations believe that speaking in tongues is a gift from God, that certain individuals may receive. They do not beleive that you must be able to do this in order to have salavation.

No.
Speaking in tongues is one of many spiritual gifts. Some people speak in tongues, and some do not.
Read 1 Corinthians Chapter 12.
Many blessings.

Absolutely not! If you follow the "law of first use", then the first time 'speaking in tongues' is used is on the day of Pentacost when the disciples went out from the Upper Room where they were hiding and began to "speak in tongue". It says there were men from all over the world and that every man there heard it in his own language. What it meant was that the disciples were speaking in different languages, NOT some gobbledy-muck ranting!
Paul later expounds on that, by saying that if you speak in tongue and there is no one there to interpret what you say, what good is that?
I know that Pentacostals believe in it, but I believe their version of "speaking in tongues" is nothing more than emotionalism. To me, being able to speak in different languages is MUCH more of a useful gift than being able to say "rabbadabba-wubba-wubba-woo" lol

No, of course not. You need to remember though that biblically, speaking in tongues is speaking a language you were never taught, a real language, not some made up langunge, it is NOT speaking gibberish. People wanted to speak in tongues so badly that some acutally convinced themselves that jabbering in gibberish was speaking in tongues, and other people bought into it. Ridiculous.

No...I've NEVER heard that you have to speak in tongues to be saved. I honestly don't really understand speaking in tongues either....how the hell do they do that? Does some spirit jump in their body and start talking for them or do they just hear the words in their head and say them? In my church too.....often times someone will "speak in tongues" that everyone says is God's way of talking to the people through a person, and then someone else will hear the "interpretation" I just don't understand it.

To my understanding, speaking in tongues is a gift some people have, but everyone has different gifts and it is not a requirement for salvation.

You can be Saved and not speak in tongues. The requirement for salvation is to believe on Jesus with your heart and to confess that belief in Him with your mouth! The purposes for speaking in tongues are to edify the body (church) when it is interpreted, as a way to pray in the Spirit (edifies oneself) , and as a sign to the unbeliever.
