After throwing out everything amd bleaching your cupboards, invest in good quality tupperware containers that have a good seal. After you buy your flour, cereal, cake and panckae mixes or any other type of supply like that and open it, dump the remainder in the container and seal tight. It is great for keeping out bugs and moisture. I do it with my bread, chips and other baking stuff, too. I have not had a problem in a few years. You can also use heavy duty freezer bags and drop the boxes and bags right in them and seal them, but they rip and the bugs can chew thru them. The extra money invested in the tupperware far exceeds the cost of throwing out food.

Just a side note, pancake and cake mixes do have an expiration date on them. I have seen a show where the person was sick but couldn't figure out why. They kept track of what they ate and it came back to the pancake mix. It was over a year oldd and had started to mold, but since the mold was the same color, they didn't know. SO, beware if lumpy or old mixes.

their eggs are layed in the flour in the mills where it is processed. It is almost impossible to avoid - try keeping flour in the fridge after you buy it, run the flour through a sifter to get out any bugs also. Once theyre in your cupboard though, almost youre going to need to get rid of anything in a box in there that they may have buried into. clean it well!

Throw the stuff in the cupboard away and wash your cupboards with bleach or clorox.
