Houston is not as much of a melting pot as New York, but you'll simply blend. Texas' large cities have people from all over the world. Girls will like you more if you treat them with respect. Most of all, try not to come off as a big shot because you're from a more cultured and world-wise area, because Texans tend to be proud and don't like to be made to feel inferior. Deep inside we're basically the same regardless of geography.
My question to you ... of all the places in Texas, why Houston?

I'm from Houston!! Well, right outside of Houston, anyway, and there are so many different cultures down here, it doesn't really matter where you are from- you will fit right in, and people will like you!! You could be from Mars, and you will be liked. (well, unless you're a total a$$hole to everyone your first few months here- then nobody will like you HAHA ) Just be true to yourself, your own style, and you will be fine! Good luck, and welcome to Houston!!
