So when she wants to pee standing up what are you going to say? I taught my daughter long ago that a woman's place is in the kitchen and there is absolutely no gender equality.

if she was older i would say go for it, but since she is only five... that is a different story, get a magazine that has short hair cuts in it, explain to her why you think she shouldnt have a buzz cut then have her pick out a reasonable short hair cut that she would like and still be girly.

"Girls dont get buzz cuts" ?!?!?!?!? well, I'll just go tell Sinead O'Conner and Demi Moore and that actress from "V" that they are not girls....

Yeah, go short for a while, then if she still wants it, go buzz.

Dont let your girl spend her life letting other people tell her what feminity is and putting her in pidgeon holes. Let her express herself (and, like the other poster said, hair does grow back, unlike other decisions she may make later in life. Best to learn early).

Are you serious?! No! If a 3-year-old wanted to jump off a bridge because it looked like fun, would you let him? Ok, maybe I'm over-reacting. The point is a 5-year old is not yet mature enough to make all decisions for herself. That's why she has a parent to tell her no.

My mom let me cut my hair short when i was five and because i am a tomboy i love it!! I still love it 7 years later! But she may get mistaken for a boy every once in a while but if she wants to go for it!

Why not? It's just hair...it'll grow back. And now's the time, with summer coming and all.

You might want to leave some bangs or something, so she can tie on a bow or barrette in case she doesn't like it once it's done.

i'd enable my daughter do it, yet i'd tell her to attempt the pixie decrease first. you should take her to the salon and characteristic them do a pixie decrease, and if she would not like it, enable her buzz it off. make effective she is familiar with what a buzz decrease is, though. that is be a shame if it were a false impression and she did not mean what she suggested. teach her pictures.

I once knew a girly who had waist length hair, with a buzz cut on top. She was butch.

no, she'll probably cry once she gets it, maybe explain to her why girls don't normally get buzz cuts, but like the other girl said, maybe let her get it cut short.
