The series of rabies shots I got when I was bitten by a dog at the age of 3. This was back in the 70's when they gave 20 shots in the belly for it. I was scared of the doctor for years after that. But after I was hospitalized a few years ago I got a shot of demerol every 4 hours for 2 weeks. It was then that I finally got over my fear of needles after the whole rabies thing.

The worst shot I ever received was my spinal prior to my c-section. I tried to explain to the anesthesiologist that I think he was doing something wrong because it hurt so bad. My whole spine felt like liquid burning heat and me left leg was going numb, but my toes were burning like fire. He kept telling me that he had done this alot of times before and that I was just nervous. Well, I tried to explain that this didn't seem like "normal" pain associated with getting a spinal, but the guy wouldn't listen. In the end, he had stuck the needle in the wrong place, causing a blood clot in my spinal column and the spinal never worked as it should have. I had to be put "under" for my baby's birth after going through a very painful spinal that I tried to explain didn't feel "correct". Dumb doctor, thought he knew better!

The most painful shot by far that I have had is a gamma globulin shot. If you have been exposed to hepatitis A they give shots of gamma globulin, which are oil-based, rather than the usual water-based shots. It is really thick and kills going in, as well as after you get it. Ugghhh.

A steroid shot I think. It is given in the fatty part of your hip and when the needle goes in, of course that hurts, but the sting comes after the medicine is injected and the needle comes out. Then it burns like hell!!

I got an injection to prevent my eye from moving during a surgery while awake. They had to push a needle under the eye ball to the back of the eye and inject some nerve agent to prevent movement. OUCH

Novocaine injections to the penis for a laceration. I was only about 8. It was sheer terror and agony.
