If you have done something and you feel so bad about it and it is affecting you, making you feel depressed and making you cry etc If its so hard to think about and gets too much, is it possible that your body/heart numbs and you don't feel the emotions, you are blank as if it didn't happen and everything is okay if you keep occuppied?

A sort of denial?

Frankly, yes...it's completely possible to do this. It's not so much denial as suppression of the emotions. Suppression is a coping skill that most of us use when we have thoughts or feelings that are so painful or uncomfortable that we don't know how to express them or deal with them. After we suppress the emotions long enough, we can even convince ourselves the we don't really feel them anymore. The down-side to this coping skill is that if you keep using it over and over and over, then the emotions will end up spilling out in another form such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, etc. At the risk of sounding completely cliche, if you don't feel that you can express this issue and the related emotions to your therapist just yet, you might want to try writing/keeping a journal so that you can at least have some form of outlet for what's going on inside you. Hopefully, once you start letting it out instead of suppressing it, you'll be able to talk with your therapist about the issue and your feelings and figure out a better way to deal with them. Good luck.

I know someone who is in full blown definition of denial. This person does not see, at all, what the problem is. In your case you know what the problem is, you know it hurts and you don't want to feel it. When you can't bear it anymore you push it away and shut down like you posted body and heart. I think you do this to take a break from the pain and during those times you keep yourself busy and then you think you are o.k.
Eventually, with help from your therapist you will be able to learn to accept your past, face the pain and and even though you might not like how bad it feels you will be able to face it and not need to escape from the feelings. Don't be hard on yourself during these times. I think when you numb yourself from the pain it is a way your mind tells you it just isn't ready to face certain things. Going through something like what you are going through is like going through the grieving process. When your ready to face certain things you will do it. The good thing is you are seeing someone who can guide you through this and i hope you continue to face what you have done that makes you feel so bad because you can learn to accept what has happened and lead a fulling and rich life.

Yes it IS very possible to feel the way you described. This could very well be PTS and can stay with you for a very long time. If you haven't talked to anyone about this, please do so as soon as you can. It can be anyone such as a close friend, family member, or someone professional, as long as you feel comfortable. You might even have to speak to a few different people depending on how you feel.

Please make sure that the person whom you speak to doesn't judge you, this is so important to your recovery, as I have been through a situation that has emotionally scared me and haunts me until this day and I've talked to many.

Forgive those who have harmed you and FORGIVE YOURSELF!! BUT NEVER, EVER FORGET!!!

I certainly understand what you are saying, I have felt the same as you.. You ought to think about going to see your doctor and maybe go on depression tablets. This will ease your mind and emotions. Good luck.
