The money seized is called "asset forfeiture" money. If it can be proven that the seized money that was taken was obtain illegally, then the money primarily goes to the agency who initiated the investigation that led to the seizure.

That money can then be used only for very specific things, mostly training or equipment related to anti-drug activites.

It varies from agency to agency but usually it goes into the general fund or to a Police Department fund to provide equipment and whatever is necessary to continue the "war on drugs". ie a police agency in AZ has a 1.2 million dollar budget but runs on 3.8 million a year due to RICO funds

I THINK IT GOES TO BUY NEW POLICE CARS, PAY FOR OVERTIME, OR THE POLICE OFFICER MAY TAKE IT FOR THEIR OWN PERSONAL USE. WHAT THEY USE IT FOR I KNOW THAT IT SURE DOESN'T GO TO THE ELDERLY PEOPLE, OR ORPHANGES. I HOPE THIS HELPS!!.
