"All highs, no lows....must be Bose." If anyone is actually THAT impressed with their Bose system, then they haven't sound checked others!! Bose is great for the bathroom countertop!! For under $1200, a Yamaha receiver with all Klipsch surround speakers will amaze you!! If you shop for them on eBay, the money you save should allow you to get the top models of each. Whichever way you go, look for a local home theater specialty store, and spend the time listening to different setups. Then, choose where and what you want to buy.

I have to start out by saying do your homework before considering Bose. Bose is a master at marketing convenience, while performance and inner quality can be considered questionable.

That being said, there are a host of good choices out there. Here are several choices that should put you on the road towards selecting a great home theater for you.

If you want more bass performance and have budget left over, you can either add another identical sub or get a larger, more powerful subwoofer system.

Happy home theatering!

Bose is the most overpriced and overrated audio brand out there. I can put together a system that sounds twice as good for half the price any day. It's a good option if you want ease of hookup and use and for it to be loaded with features, but as far as sound quality goes, they are useless. You can get some Infinities with an onkyo 503 receiver for around that price that would kill even the best Bose system.

The bose 321 is nice if you like the user friendliness and less speakers to hook up and wire but if you don't mind that Yamaha has some excellent all in one systems that give you separate components and rocks. If you grow tired of the speakers and want to upgrade you don't have to upgrade everything like you do in many all in one systems.

For years Bose has produced top quality audio products that far supersede what other companies attempt to put out. For the money, Bose is the way to go.
