Some hospitals may request that you be at least 15 years of age, but if not, that is an excellent opportunity. Also, try a convalescent home, a day care center, animal shelter, or a soup kitchen. Check the website www.volunteermatch.org for opportunities.

Join the youth volunteer program at a local hospital. I do at St. Mary's and it's lots of fun. I get to deliver the flowers to rooms sometimes and it's the best making people smile like that. :D

Check with your local library.

(And I don't mean look the information up there--although that might work too. I mean volunteer at your library. Many libraries have summer reading programs for smaller kids and need help running them)

You could try speaking with owers/managers of a retirement facility to see if they would be interested in having you visit some of their lonlier residents. You would completely brighten someone's day and learn a lot in the process. Our elderly have vast knowledge and experiences that we will never know, its a great learning experience.

well you can go volunteer at a day care,day camp,school,library,food pantry,homeless shelter,park,senior center,ymca,boys & girls club,church, in your school.
go to volunteermatch.com,idealist,com,or kidsforcommunity.com(for nyc only) to find some volunteer events you can do
