What denominations are they? I know one is Anglo Saxon Christianity (Puritans). Another are the Quakers but I don't know what the third is. There location, beleifs (at least the first two I know), zeal vary. The North is extremely conservative, I mean we'll stone till death conservative and they wish to only reproduce with themeselves. They are called the Puritans and were extremely high in zeal but I would like to know exactly what states they lived in. The Quackers beleive in a light that is in us all ,plants humans and animals. They where in the middle states but I would like to know exactly which states. The south , I dont know what denimonation they were or what states they were in, exactly but zeal was low.

1) I would like to know what states the Puritans were in.
2) I would like to know what states the Quackers were in.
3. I would like to know about the southern's states denomination and thier exact states.

I ask because it would help greatly in my History Essay, Thanks

The Puritans were generally in what is called the New England region. The Quakers were mostly in Pennsylvania. Pennsylvania means Penn's Woods. So named for William Penn. The land was actually given to him to pay a debt to his father, and it also got him out of the King's hair as well as him taking his Quaker friends with him. If you hear of Quaker State it is actually a refrence to PA, although we are more commonly known as the Keystone state but not getting into THAT history lesson. The other one commonly used I know of was Angelicans(Church of England) which was the offical Church of the colony of Virgina. Remember in the colonies they had offical Churches. You either went to that Church or were thrown in the stocks. PA was different as the Quakers let you pick where you went although I'm sure they encouraged you to go to their Church.

Well surprisingly Puritans and Quakers are very similar in their roots. But anyway yes Puritans were primarily in New England, the Quakers were predominantly in the Mid-Atlantic. Mainly in Pennsylvania which William Penn ( a quaker) founded as a haven for quakers. Another large christian denomination was Catholicism, which largely took root in Maryland. The southern states were primarely a general Protestantism until the the Great Awakenings, and the freeing of the slave population when baptists took a large precedence.

Quakers (and "Friends" which is very much the same) are from Pennsylvania and Delaware. There is a Friends School in Wilmington, Delaware and I grew up in Quakertown, Pennsylvania.
