Jehovah's Witnesses represent true Christianity and true worship.

It seems signficant that the relatively small religion of Jehovah's Witnesses are the ones best known for their worldwide preaching work. Yet Jesus commanded that ALL who would call themselves "Christian" perform this public work:

(Matthew 28:19,20) Go therefore and make disciples of people of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to observe all the things I have commanded you. And, look! I am with you all the days until the conclusion of the system of things.”

About a year ago, I did some research to really find out about JW, as I had an encounter with a couple of them on my door step. : ) They said they would be back, so I wanted to really know my stuff so that I could have a good conversation with them and maybe make them question their own belief system.
I can't remember everything I read, but I do know that some of their beliefs are seriously innaccurate according to the Bible, and some of their beliefs are not that different from mainstream Christianity. Some of their beliefs (like the holidays thing) are MORE accurate according to the Bible. I actually like the way they try to spread their version of the Good News, even if I don't think their version is 100% right. Jesus said to go and teach all nations. If more Christians were as evangelistic in practice as JW are, the world would be a better place. : )

IF the jw's are the spirit directed organization of God as they claim...then why would God need to keep changing His direction for them ? God knows all...sees all....but he must just be messing with them by giving them the wrong message since they need to change their teachings every few years. right ? How else could you explain it ?

He knows all...its not like he suddenly remembers...(wacking Himself on the forehead) Holy (pun intended) Crap...I told my only true religion the wrong thing 10 years ago...oops...better straighten that out !

The JW's taught:

The world will end in 1975....Ooops - still here

They told all the JW's in a country called Malawi..that they could not apply for a Required Government ID..as a result many JW's were imprisoned and DIED....Oooops...Now the JW's say it is ok to get the ID card.

They taught absolutely, positively NO Organ Transplants... Ooops - now it is ok.

They taught absolutely, positively NO blood transfusions... Oooops - Now some types of Blood "Fractions" are okay.

Just think about the number of JW's that died for lack of an ID Card, an organ transplant or a transfusion...but now all are acceptable ! Would God allow people to die because the JW's didn't get the "New Light" ?

Some of the changes made to the Bible by the JW's change the total context of the Scripture ! But it puts it in agreement with their teachings and that is all that matters to them !

I was a JW for 20+ years....They are a Cult !

Their beliefs are not based on holy scriptures...they are based on the JW version of the Bible that they edited to change things to agree with their teachings. The original JW's (Russell and Rutherford) even believed in the occult, pyramid power and numerology ! Those are the founding fathers of the church ! When I was a member I was told by the local elders that I should not research in my Bible because it would just confude me. They said that I should read the JW books and magazines and just trust the leaders guidance because they were "annointed" and spirit directed by God.

I say again...THEY ARE A CULT !

Yeah they come to the door and I close the door. I invited them in once a long time ago, and wanted to learn more. They promised me they would come back with a few others and never did. One man called and apologized and said he would meet me, he never showed up. Only 100,000 (Jehovah's Witnesses)people will survive the Apocalypse and it's them. I don't think they will show up. Kinda of arrogant to claim! Who's watching them from the watchtower.

To "whynotaskdon" do you have a small vocabulary, the reason I ask this is, you say just about the same thing each time "Poor diluded people who have to work their way to salvation" have you never read the Bible Book of "James"?

Show me one person in the Bible that was approved by God or Jesus that simply had Faith, you cannot.

Noah and His Family was saved because he not only had Faith, but he obeyed God & build the Ark, which was works, without his works, he would have died along with the others.

James 2:14  ¶What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
James 2:17  Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18  Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.

James 2:20  But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
21  Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?

James 2:24  Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
25  Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
26  For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

To be honest, you are one of the last people I would want to ask anything pertaining to the Bible about.

"william j" you and I should meet sometime, because I most certainly do not have a mental problem.

I have several acquaintences who are Witnesses. I believe that most witnesses are sincere people who are trying to earn the favor of Almighty God. Unfortunately, we can't earn God's favor. God's favor comes out of His grace and our belief in Jesus Christ the way he reveals himself within the pages of the Holy Bible. (Not the New World Translation).

I have known plenty of them, and EVERY one of them I have known has had some serious mental problems.

Speaking in the religious sense, it is just a religion. They are all a little strange when viewed from the outside.

I'm not judging them for wanting to spread the word of God, but I don't agree with them pushing their beliefs on people just sitting home enjoying the race/game then hear that unexpected knock on their door...It's rude!

I think it's unfortunate that they prevent their children from participating in sex ed classes at school, and it's sad to see their kids be stopped from participating in celebrations at Christmas / Valentine's Day / Hannukah, etc, but as long as they don't force their beliefs on me or try to convert me, I can't really complain.

They're okay up to the point where they don't believe in blood transfusions. If I were dying and needed blood to save my life I'd take it. But who am I to say that that's wrong.
