I'm not suggesting there isn't an immigration problem that would be BS. My issue is with all the comments, by those who all of sudden claim to be EXPERTS on every aspect of immigration. Why don’t they state ALL the facts? Like why the US doesn’t have a legitimate estimate on the number of illegal immigrants due to the FACT they did didn’t think it was important till 2003! Prior to that, their elementary tactic was to estimate that for one who crossed legally, 3 crossed illegally. Proving they've known forever. And isn’t it ironic that in these times of identity theft, the IRS gets a SSN that is being simultaneously worked in different parts of the county and they do nothing! Is this okay? I’ve seen all of this first hand, don’t BS me. If you want to bash them, bash them, but you can’t say that this county hasn’t contributed to the problem. If you let people take advantage of you, they will regardless (men think of hoes to relate). I know your anxious to speak your mind, just think 1st!

They have to know two or more people are working the same SSN b/c it's impossible for both to be working regardless of their shift if one lives in LA and the other in Chicago! Seven days a week... C'mon common sense.

I'm glad I didn't get any ignorant responses, except for maybe 1.... Thanks everyone who answered and even those who didn't. I'm sure they thought about and didn't want to make themselves look stupid!

I'm with you, the gov't stood by and let it happen, all in the name of big business. Now that they're scared of getting booted out of office... oh yeah NOW they start to pay attention. Politicians don't care about us, they only care about power and money.

It's an issue of all a sudden becase the government needs a way to slowly introduce two ideas:

a) a single identificatory document is good;
b) asking for documentation and keeping electronic records on people is necessary.

In short, the illegal immigration issue is being used at this point to push a certain political agenda (shared by both major parties) based on supervision of the individual and control of the masses.

Let me state the facts then.

No one I know ever spend more time helping immigrants with English, how our country works, and help them do business.

Then I found out about La Reconquista, and had it confirmed by the ones I know.

Immigration and colonization are two different things. With Mexico it's colonization.

Now you can get the facts straight.

I agree with you. But placing blame helps no one. Concrete steps are needed to stop it now or it will be even worse tomorrow. We didn't do anything but wink before, okay so now we have sat up and decided to do something about it. It has been a long time coming, but it is now here. So, what do we do next?

You are absolutely right. Our government has a whole lot to answer for. There were laws on the books they never enforced.

The problem remains, however. I for one am just grateful they are finally being made to address it.

You are of course totally correct ... it has grown to a huge problem, but hardly overnight ... and our elected representatives, both Dems and Reps, stood by and did nothing .... and now they stand by and do nothing again ...
