Cut back the food no treats and walks.
I have a weim that was up to 89 pounds I cut him back to 1 cup of food per feeding her gets feed 2 times per day so toatl of 2 cups and he could have ONE treat per day. We incresaed his exercise and he dropped down to 69 pounds.
I keep him there by giving 1 1/4 cup food per feeding and he gets some treats.
I do not feed any type of light or diet dog food you do not have to. I feed a very high quality diet and fed less.
If you are strong and don't give in to them you can get them to loose the weight.
It is so much better for their health

First take her to the vet to make sure it's not a medical condition. Second stop feeding her junk food! And don't say you're not because it takes a lot of healthy dog food to make a dog THAT overweight. Get a good brand of low fat food like Nutro or Wellness or Canidea. Don't feed her the grocery store brands because many of them are high in fat. Third, increase exercise. Walk her twice, three times a day. Play fetch more often. Last, YOU must resist from feeding her table scraps. Keep in mind, that much weight on a small dog is terrible for her health. A minpin should only weigh 8-10 lbs. 10 lbs MORE is A LOT of weight.

First, take all food from dog's reach. Do not leave anything down except fresh water. If you walk your dog at least twice a day for a mile or more, and if she is fed twice a day, cut the feedings in half. Do not feed "human" food unless this is what she is use to. Human food is not a treat and can damage the dog's bowel and teeth. It will take time, but it works for both of you!

pick up a 5 or 10 pound weight at the gym and visualize that weight coming off holding the weight in your hands helps bring home just how heavy even 5 pounds of extra fat can be

feed less -and no treats. you can add green beans or canned pumpkin to provide some stomach fill. I'd add more execise but given that much overweight on such a small dog I'd talk to the vet on how much is wise

Read the question folks.. she doesn't want her dog to LOSE weight, she wants it to LOOSE weight.

I'd say, put the dog in the washer on "spin"; that should loosen up all the flab.

Take him to your vet, they usually will suggest the healthiest type of diet food for him. The best ones are prescriptions that you can only get at a vet, and they work the best and are the healthiest! My personal favorites are Hill's R/D and Hill's W/D, but your vet will tell you which one is best for your particular dog.
