i always find this world view so funny. how can practicing a religion like this, with out really believing, really be better then not practicing at all? it just proves how ridiculous the whole thing is. and yeah, in that case it would be safer to practice all the religions, but Christians never think this way, they just think "We are right, and everyone else is clearly deceived by the devil. personaly, i don't belive in anything just because it is safe.

If you believe in all the religions in the world then find out one of them were wrong then technically you'd be right and wrong. You should believe in what you want to believe and don't let anyone try to change your mind because they could be wrong too. I mean what if Jesus didn't save everyone and Muhammed did or something like that. I don't think god will hold it against you for believeing what you want to believe as long as you don't do anything really horrible I think you'll probably get into heaven.

This person is just using a fear tactic because they themselves are afraid that if people do not believe in God they won't find or see God. Not true! Every Soul has its own unique journey which is not for others to walk the same path.
There is nothing to be fearful of but fear itself. It is Unreal. The ego is Unreal. It does not exist. It is like a shadow. When you shine the light on the shadow, it disappears.
Find out who you truly are, your True Nature, then that will take you to the Source of the Truth. Believe in Love. Follow the path of Love, it will naturally take you to the Truth. Then you'll be just fine and will never be lost.
To believe in God out of fear will not bring you any closer to the Truth. There is a difference between believing in something out of fear as opposed to understanding who God is.
It is within you. It is who you are inside. You just have forgotten that. Go journey within yourself, all of the answers are within. Let your heart lead and guide you with only Love, then you will surely discover.
Anything that speaks, talks, behaves or acts like fear is not the Truth. Don't give it the time of the day!

I dunno, Mark, thirty-thousand-plus religions would keep you busy 24/7. Why not pick, say, a dozen? Just make sure there's enough variety to cover as many different gods, creation myths, and proscribed activities as possible:
1) Catholic (god of love, has a temper and/or sense of humor, sex without procreation is forbidden)
2) Baptist (god of love with no sense of humor, sex without guilt is forbidden, as well as dancing, gambling, and membership in the Democratic Party)
3) Buddhist (no god but some good stories about an enlightened dude, the only rule is "be one with everything" or "be nothing" --depending on whom you ask)
And so on, you get the idea. By the time you're done you'll be a Catholic - Baptist - Buddhist - Mormon - Jim_Darwinite - Pastafarian - Hindu - Hopi - Whatsit. Try putting THAT on a bumper sticker....

Well...That is a terrible way to have "faith"...just to be safe. You either believe in God or not, there is no in between of 'well I don't really know but just to be safe, I will tell myself and everyone else I believe in God'. That is not how faith works, it isn't a point system. Faith is belief in something, whether it is that there is a God, that there isn't a God, or that there are several gods, whatever. Even as an atheist you have a faith, you believe there is no God, or higher power of any sort, all things are born then they die, that's it. Your faith is in the idea that there is no God, no big plan, just life on earth and then no more. Anyone who tells you "just to be safe" is full of crap, they need o check their own beliefs to see if they even believe what they are saying to you.

You don't believe in JESUS now. But if you decide to later on, your Spiritman will get RECREATED and that will affect your mind, then you will know JESUS is the SAVIOUR. Later on, the devil will try to talk you outta believing that your still saved and you start thinking your not saved any-more untill you leave EARTH for GOOD and make it home to HEAVEN, then they TEACH the doubt and unbelief out of your SOUL, so you can enjoy GOD up there.

That way you may want to believe in many other things.. rather than just God or religion. And believe me u can't believe in all the religions at once.. they contradict at many places.
For eg: you may want to believe in superstitions around the world just to be safe. you may just not want to die somehow because there may be anything after u die that u may not like..
Getting me. Overcome ur fear.. that's no way to decide about something. Think and think rationally.

Whoever is telling you that needs to stop it. You don't believe in Jesus Christ just to be safe, you believe in HIm to be saved. God knows the hearts of every person that He created, and all He wants to do is get us all out of this earth so that we don't have to go through the suffering that we are destined to. If you could see this planet as a holding cell, instead of home, God is trying to get us to live for Him so that we don't have to face our death penalty.

If that were the arguement given to you, your logic might be correct. Although accepting all is akin to polytheism.
It's a dumb argument that was given to you, as you can clearly see. Rather better to search out God now so you do not need to fear the unknown afterward. Here is a good place to start focusing...

There was a question related to this about a month or two ago, and someone mentioned something called "Pascal's Wager". See Source List below.
