Is the pricing USD? It really depends on the quality of the product, but without seeing it I can't comment. I do know however that $8/box for laminate is either one hell of a bargain, or poorly made flooring. Cheap laminate starts at around $1.00 per square foot, and I've seen it as high as $6.00 for top of the line. With laminate look at the thickness, the thicker the better. Ask what kind of Warrenty you're getting. Walk on a sample, does it sound hollow, or more like real wood? (It always sounds hollow compared to hardwood though). Remember that you need to use an underlay with laminate, find out how much that will cost per square foot. It should be between 50 cents to 2.50 again depending on quality. Whether you need good quality or just okay is up to you. Hallways and high traffic areas should have a product that will stand up to wear and tear, but a bedroom, where most of the floor is covered with furniture is probably okay with a lesser quality.
I didn't even mention colour, pattern, texture. Bottom line is find a product that looks good to you, in the high end of your price range that has some kind of manufacturer's warrenty.

if it is known as a remnant it may be a good deal for the linoleum. Look at it, is it backed with a heavy backing or just the top coat. the thicker the better. Now with the wood laminate at $8.00 a box? wow must be left overs or very low quality. I just purchased some hardwood veneered laminate for a customer and it cost me (contractors cost) $11.31 a square foot and it was made by Mohawk Industries. Very top end stuff. Yes laminate can be bought for about a dollar a foot but, it is not anything i would put in my house or a customers unless they were planning to immediately sell the house and i still wouldn't like it. To determine square footage take the length of the room and multiply it by the width of the room. Add any other areas like under appliances or in closets to the total. I would also consider adding and extra 5-10% for scrap and cut pieces. Hope this helps. Oh Steps Flooring starts at $1.39 a ft just for the record.

Prices seem a bit too low to be real. You would be paying only 17.7 cents a square foot for that wood flooring! and 44.4 cents per sq ft for the sheet goods. I think I would take a real good look at what ever you are considering...this is very low costs for any kind of quality I have ever seen.

At 50 cents a square foot or more it might be a good deal if it is made well. You didnt say who the maker of the flooring is though?
