At the courthouse on my lunch-break. Didn't even get my consolation Whopper... I should've went w/ my instinct to cut-n-run. Going to courthouse is NEVER a good deal!

My wedding day was one of the worst days of my life. It was so totally for my parents and not what we would have done at all. I had a six month old baby so it was taboo for some of my family anyway. A bunch didn't come out of protest.
I woke up that morning in a panic because my fiance never came home from his bachelor party. I found him passed out in the unairconditioned laundry room in the pile of dirty laundry with both cats asleep on his back.
There were so many people there I didn't know and I was really nervous.
I had a glass of champagne which I hadn't drank in over a year from being pregnant and then breast feeding. I ended up getting pretty tipsy and telling some horribly inappropriate stories while I sloshed champagne all over everyone. My husband and I look back at that day and laugh. I had the story book wedding that little girls dream of and it was such a facade.

First time, on a beach, a Wicca ceremony, I knew it would not last, most of the guests were from the Society of Creative Anachronism(her friends).I felt ridiculous, my brothers mocked me.
Second time, on a beach.
It was the coldest July day ever recorded in my home town. I was falling down drunk. My best man my brother retched throughout the ceremony, he tried to suppress it and failed. My other three brothers snickered and mocked us.
Third time I bucked tradition and married at her parents house, in the garden, we had a hammer dulcimer player, who ironically was hammered(a friend of mine, an ex lover, I met her when she was hammering dulcimers at a tea garden). It seemed like every guest there was a Mountie, retired or currently employed.
Next time I am eloping and going up to the plate sober.

In a coal mine. All the bridesmaids and groomsmen wore miner's hard hats and were brought to the altar in a coal car. After the ceremony family and friends threw rice coal at the
newlyweds. At the reception held in the 'main room' of the mine, coal candy was served instead of cake. Pretty much your traditional type of wedding.
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥
p.s. Did have to wear hip boots in the mine because something
in this story got a little thick.

I'm not married yet, just in the planning stages for our May 26, 2007 wedding. We've picked out a great location: a 1700's fort in my hometown of Kingston, TN-- Fort Southwest Point. It overlooks my hometown and the rivers that run through it...and it's up on top of a hill. Beautiful!

First time I was married was a "garden" wedding at my brother's home. It rained about forty-five minutes before the ceremony and everybody but me was going nuts thinking it was gonna get rained out. I guess it was an omen because it didn't last. Second time was in my hubby's granddad's pecan orchard. It was one of the last warm days of October. It was a sweet ceremony, my daughter's were our only attendants. Our music was canned, but we had made a special tape of all our "romantic" songs.

Traditional both times, first time in the church and second in a registry office. I would love to be married outside but it is not legal in England.

In a chapel by the courthouse.
In a Mormon church house.
Under a semi.
By a mountainside.
Where Elvis was married. Twice. (Different chapels)
On a rowboat.
On a ferris wheel.
In my trailer park sales office.
In a port-o-potty. (It was the bigger handicap access one)
At a Dream Theater concert.
I'm not very good at this, am I?

Barefoot on the beach in Florida as the sun set over the water behind us. Pretty damned cool.
