As far as getting married, it's really not anybody's decision but you and your boyfriend. It sounds like your father in law wants you two to start preparing for a life together and get going on becoming an independent family.
Adjusting to different cultures is always difficult. As long as you are open minded and have fun with it, there really should be no trouble. You do not have to participate in all the religious ceremonies (in some instances, it might be considered rude as you yourself have not yet converted), but you have a duty to respect them. Similarly, they have a duty to respect your culture and heritage, even if they don't share in it.

If your father in law is religious how did he accept his son and grand daughter into his home .Is he aware that your daughter is out of wedlock .Was it your decision or your boy friends decision to have sex and a baby before marriage.
