Romans 14 : 14-
I know and am perfectly sure on the authority of the Lord Jesus that no food, in and of itself, is wrong to eat. But if someone believes it is wrong, then for that person it is wrong. 15And if another Christian is distressed by what you eat, you are not acting in love if you eat it. Don't let your eating ruin someone for whom Christ died. 16Then you will not be condemned for doing something you know is all right.
17For the Kingdom of God is not a matter of what we eat or drink, but of living a life of goodness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit. 18If you serve Christ with this attitude, you will please God. And other people will approve of you, too. 19So then, let us aim for harmony in the church and try to build each other up.
20Don't tear apart the work of God over what you eat. Remember, there is nothing wrong with these things in themselves. But it is wrong to eat anything if it makes another person stumble. 21Don't eat meat or drink wine or do anything else if it might cause another Christian to stumble. 22You may have the faith to believe that there is nothing wrong with what you are doing, but keep it between yourself and God. Blessed are those who do not condemn themselves by doing something they know is all right. 23But if people have doubts about whether they should eat something, they shouldn't eat it. They would be condemned for not acting in faith before God. If you do anything you believe is not right, you are sinning

There are numerous instances of Jesus drinking wine, so I would say yes. Drinking is not a sin nor is it prohibited, but getting drunk is.
John Ch.2 - Jesus performed His first miracle, changing water into wine
Matt. 26 & other references to the Last Supper. Jesus was celebrating the Passover with His closest friends the night before He was crucified. There are 4 cups at the Passover Seder filled with wine to represent the 4 expressions of redemption. The 3rd, the cup of Redemption, was the one Jesus passed when He told His friends to drink to symbolize His new covenant and to do this in remebrance of Him. The Redemption had come & was to be fulfilled the next day.

Read in the book of Proverbs 31:4-5
This is the book the wise King Solomon wrote. He was given the wisdom of God to rule the people and every word that he wrote brings wisdom to the spirit man.
My answer: if you think about it most liquor is referred to as spirits. That is not by coincidence. Spirits are what influence either wickedness, or righteousness. But don't be fooled that the spirits of alcohol can influence righteousness in any man. Fill your heart, mind, body, and soul with the Holy Spirit which is given only by the word of God. God Bless.

Did not Jesus stock the marriage feast at Cana by turning water into wine?
Did he not also drink wine at the Last Supper?
You pompous hypocrite--probably think you are a devout Christian, when you have not even read your own bible and have to ask other people in the Yahooniverse to explain your own religion to you.
Disgusting. You said those who do not believe, need not to answer. Well, you yahootian, you don't need to ask questions, either.

I am an atheist, but because I am more familiar with the Bible than most Christians that I know, I will answer. If you will recall from Genesis, Noah was an alcoholic, but Moses later wrote that men should stay away from strong liquors and spirits. So basically, it's not recommended that you drink alcohol, but God PROBABLY won't smite you for drinking a beer (but then, who knows, he is ineffable).

YES! Jesus turned water into wine, drank wine at the last supper, among others. Back in the days of Jesus they drank a lot of wine because the water was dirty. One of the reasons drinking is frowned up is only if it's underage drinking. Because in Romans it says to follow the law/government because God put it there. Also, it says that drunkards will go to hell. Because of drinking? NO. Because of the condition of their heart when they're drunk. If you need refrences or have any other questions, please feel free to contact me.

Isn't wine an alcoholic beverage? If yes, doesn't Jesus drink wine in the bible? I'm just curious. I mean that is something I can remember from a kid. He asked why they saved the best for last or something like that?

Yes,a prime example is in Matthew when Jesus turned water into wine. What would be the purpose if not to drink it.The use of wine in bible times was actually medicinal. There are scriptures that specifically forbid "drunkenness" but it does not say drinking is forbidden.

Wine is permitted, Jesus even drank it and performed miracles with it. But He does warn against too much.
There will also be wine in Heaven. Towards the end of Matthew, Jesus mentions something about drinking wine with His Father in Heaven or something I forgot the exact words, but I think its during the Passover Meal.

The Bible says everything in moderation. Which I take to mean alcohol is included. They drank wine back in the bible days, and it had alcohol in it. That's what happens when yeast ferments. But what people seem to overlook, is the word everything.
