Sometimes I feel like I'm losing my attention when I read and answer stupid questions. Not this one, but you know, on Y!Answers, you sure can run into those.

As far as that goes, it could be you're lacking sleep, not getting enough nutrition...things like that. Sounds like you're losing concentration for some reason. Maybe something's not right in your personal life. You might wanna see a doctor, to be on the safe side.

Don't worry about it, you just get mixed up. I do that all the time. I seem to be confused with the simple things - stuff that's right in front of my eyes that everybody else has no problem with but leaves me scratching my head like an idiot.

Lol. It's frustrating but it should pass. Maybe you are preoccupied with something? Distracted by something on your mind?

Try to relax more: take a shower, listen to some music you like, read a book, go for a walk in the sun, etc. Chances are you'll be back to your old self in no time. If you're not, don't worry. Things like this tend to take time.

IF you are serious and not just fooling around and under 80 and have not had some sort of accident you need to see someone about a possible chemical imbalance. Many diseases cause chemical imbalances as do medications, drugs, alcohol and certain foods in certain people. IF you are really concerned you need to check in with a naturapath or a doctor for tests.

i have the same problem! where i listen to something, like the explanantion of how this and this goes, and i get confused real quick and it scares me also because in the past it was easy and now i feel stupid to not get it.

however, i think the reason is simply because we are 'growing older' thats the only thing i can think off. because i remember, when i was little i use to ask my parents something lets say, animals, and they would get tangled up in answering my simple question and i use to think, how on earth could they not know? then a not too long ago i was thinking about something as simple as that and i would also get tangled up in thinking clear and remembering, and i thought...ahh..so thats why my parents where like that.

i think its the matter of growing older, the more days you add to your life, the more info the more knowledge you log in to your brain, the more difficult it gets for a person to memorize, to understand things, HOWEVER, since you and me are young, ( i can tell by your screen name) it could simply be by the issue that we are still growing up, not growing older, growing up, meaning our brains are still 'adapting' to living life not as a young adult but as an older person confronting bigger issues, bigger information, you understand what im saying?

anyways, i think thats the reason. i hope!

First, by all means see a doctor! Any number of things, from fatigue to something really serious could be the cause.

I feel as though the drugs that my doctors have put me on have made me rather "scatterbrained". I feel like I used to be a lot smarter.:(

if you have been hit in your temple then empty soft spot on the side of your head then that could be a theory, another could be that depression makes you tired and fade in and out in understanding people when they talk to you.

Sounds like you are stressed out. That will screw up your thinking and concentration. Make you feel like you are nuts, sometimes.

Check with your doctor.
