It means you're not allowed to. Yahoo Answers tells everyone who asks a question, that they can't answer their own. Onlyway around that is to give your own answer, as part of your question posting.

I think we should band together to form a civilizaton. We shall call it WHY CAN"T WE ANSWER OUR OWN QUESTIONS. Then we'll make and army and overide yahoo. So that we can answer our own questions. I also think we know what's best for ourselves though information from other people could help.

Yeah, well, I realized long ago that the yahoo people don't believe in democracy. What a bunch of totalitarians. We oughtta make a constitutional amendment to outlaw they way they run things around here.

if you answer your questions, you will earn 5 extra points. think of it...you spend 5 points asking the question, and give yourself 10 points for the best answer. so much for cheating the system!!!

If you want to answer your own question, why ask it? Sounds like you're not open to other people's answers.
