It kind of depends on how far their business is and how long it took for the pizza guy to get from there to your place. If the pizza place is not that faraway and the pizza guy came at a decent time, he should get around $7-$10. If the pizza place is faraway and the pizza guy still came around at a good time, he should get at least $12. If the pizza place is not that faraway and the pizza guy comes really late(like past the time it was promised to be delivered or just outrageously late), you usually get the pizzas for free or get an extra consolation gift (like an extra pizza or free boxes of breadsticks or something like that) or you could just not give them a good tip or a tip at all. Where I live, tipping is all up to the customer. It would be weird if the pizza guy demanded a certain tip.

I normally tip about 2 dollars. But if the delivery guy had to deliver 7 pizzas and other stuff, I think the $12 is fair. Its kinda like the waitress at a restaurant adding the tip to the bill if theres more than say 10 people. That way they make sure theyre not stiffed for alot of hard work.

10% tip is hardly overcharging. You should at minimum be tipping ten percent for delivery (15% minimum for restaurant). When a delivery order is large or complicated, the tip should be increased to 15%.
You have to remember, service people LIVE off their tips and get minimum wage to do so...In fact, in restaurants, because a % tip is anticipated by the government, a server will get taxed on what the tip SHOULD have been. So, if you leave a bad tip, because you didn't bring enough money, or you're stingy, or a jerk, know that that server is probably PAYING for YOU to eat there.
For a general rule of thumb, if you don't have enough to pay for a 15% tip, then DON'T order out or go out.

Well the norm is around 10 to 15% depending on who you ask, as for myself I think that 15% is very generous, besides, I don't know if you look at the signs at any of the gas stations in you area, but around here it's hitting the $3.00 a gallon mark.
He probably has a family at home to take care of, and if not at least he will be able to buy one or two gallons of gas, and he might have some change left over to buy a candy bar, and do it all over again, what a job!!
In my opinion tip the man at least 15% if you can, and if you do not want to tip, maybe you can go get it yourself by burning up your gas driving through traffic, place your order once you get there, wait until it's done, drive back home, park the car, take off your coat off, and then, oh wait a minute the pizza is now cold.
Well I think you get the point, just tip him, besides he brought you a pipping hot pizza.
Enjoy,
Duane J.

The tip for a $116.00 order should be $17.40, a total of $133.40, the delivery person should not be held responsible for the delivery charge of $2.50 ( Which is ridiculous! ) Most Delivery Pizza shops require a $10.00 minimum on delivery orders, and the most I have ever paid or heard of for delivery charge is $1.00.
( I have lived in Central Mass., and Central and southern Florida, and never paid more than $1.00 for delivery. For an order that size and amount your delivery charge should have been free!
( Unless you were more than 10 miles from the pizza shop you ordered from ) For some strange reason the pizza shops charge for distance, but the DRIVER does not earn that money for his expenses. The driver pays for the gas, insurance, maintenance on his or her own vehicle. Try using this web site to determine tip amounts. http://www.tipthepizzaguy.com/

Think of it this way.... If you had to bring some guy a pizza, how much do you think that you would expect? I mean after all part of why you have it delivered is for YOUR convenience, Right.?
1.) YOU don't have to leave the house to get it.
2.) YOU don't have to spend your time to get it.
3.) YOU don't have to use your car to get it.
4.) YOU don't have to use your gas to go get it.
The pizza delivery person uses all of their OWN stuff to make life easier on YOU! So be nice when they come and give them a GREAT TIP and remember he is trying to make it in life too! He probably wishes that he could make enough tonight that he could afford to buy a pizza for His FAMILY tomorrow night; and give his delivery guy a "nice" tip too!
