Meals that has sauces, such a spaghetti pasta. Your man will be tempted to share with you and if the past got on your lips, he might very well give you a kiss to taste the pasta from your lips.
Food that you can share, such as Fondo. It is usually in one pot between you and you share it. You and you man can make it as fun and enjoyable as you like. It can be a very tender moment between you. From appetizers to dessert, it all can be done in Fondo.
Finger food is also great way to be close to him, you can feed him, and he feeds you.

Try not to pick pick that needs to much work on their work, such as steak, he will be busy trying to cut the meat, and that will take away some of the attention from you to the beef.

Another idea, a real clear soup with some ginger and fresh vegetables; a really wonderful fresh broiled wild salmon with some baby asparagus tips, grilled; and a watercress salad and some really decadent creamy chocolate dessert, like flourless raspberry cake or a souffle, or crème brulee with a chocolate bottom. I'd use a liqueur. And hollandaise sauce (for the salmon). Of course it would if they are all be organic.

Don't get oysters. It is such an old and tired cliché. How many men do really like it, you will get stuck with eating them for him. yak.

If you are having champion, don't forget the strawberry. :)

Enjoy.

Speaking as a man, any dish will do, lol.

On the serious side can you cook?

Why not ask him what he likes to eat, and if you can make it, then hook it up, and if you can't, maybe he is thoughtful and caring enough to appreciate the fact that you took time out of you day to make him a dish that was made out of love.

Yes. I would consider it romantic that a man chose to do the dishes so I wouldn't have to. That's what romance is, thought and consideration to what would make your partner happy and feel special. No grand gesture is needed.

chop up some garlic, onion, green pepper, and sautee them in olive oil. Add some spicy (or mild if you prefer) sausage and once it's a little brown add 1 cup of rice ( or what you prefer). Then add a packet of Sazon Goya seasoning( doesn't matter if it has achote or not, i like with achote). then add 2 cups boiling hot water. salt to taste. once the contents in the pot start boiling cover and put it on low until rice is down. Delicious This is my sausage rice that my hubby loves. then get some ready cake mix add some chopped walnuts. and do all this just wearing a smile:)

best romantic dinner I have prepared, and it went over very well, was:

Lamb chops in red wine sauce
roasted galic butter red potato pieces, sauteed and browned with carmalized onions
chocolate covered strawberries with fresh heavy cream , whipped

this is surprisingly easy to prepare with the proper ingredients and basic cooking knowledge
