He didn't willingly give himself to his killers, he was sold to them. When & how did he make the decision he was going to die for our sins if it was other people who decided he was going to die because they didn't like him?

Jesus was crucified for calling himself the King of the Jews. That's why the Romans crucified him. Christians weren't satisfied with that end, so they decided to say that he died for our sins so that his life and teachings wouldn't seem so pointless.
There's a book by John Dominic Crossan about this, but I can't remember the title.

He was never sold to anyone. Judas betrayed Him by letting the authorities know where He would be at a certain time so that they could take Him into custody during the midnight hour so that none of the people who believed in Him would see. The rulers knew that His words were influencing enough that a riot or even a complete take over could possibly happen if they tried to take Him in broad daylight. Jesus was never a slave or the sole possession of anyone at all.

And He didn't make the decision to die for our sins, God did and God revealed to Him through the prophecies who He was and what His purpose was, the same way He is trying to do with the people of today.

Before Jesus got here within the flesh, we're instructed that sinners who repented WERE stored via religion within the replacement slayed animal sacrifices mentioned via God. And like the ones of in these days, they needed to quit sinning (that is what repenting method). The specific atonement, nevertheless, took situation with best timing while Jesus grew to be the perfect sacrifice those animals prefigured. So earlier than Jesus got here, the individuals appeared FORWARD to the go at the same time the ones after, seem BACK to the atonement at the go. Therefore, in some way, you are proper: it's the equal for many who repent in their sins. For folks who do not, there's no sacrifice or heaven. It quite do not have mattered while God could have selected to ship Jesus to earth however being gracious as He is, He gave mankind all of the prophecies had to aid guy appreciate the actual Messiah and end up, as soon as once more, that God continues His guarantees concerning salvation and judgments. He could not have made those any clearer.

This is what He came to do. It was His mission all along. It was prophesied from the beginning that the Christ would come be the lamb slain for sin and the people of God looked forward to it then and now look back to it. He Himself declared that He lays down His life willingly.

Jesus suffered in the Garden of Gethsemane for our sins, which caused him to bleed from every pore. He wanted to do it because he loves us. And yes, he did let them put him on the cross, he is God, he could have stopped them, but he knew the father's plan and His will and knew it had to happen. He offered to be "sacrificed" in order to satisfy the laws of justice. It was his decision, no one, not even our Heavenly Father, MADE him do it. We could not save ourselves, He the Lord suffered for our sins. We must do all we can though and live righteously, or it would have all been in vain. When we sin and do not repent, we are mocking the atonement, which made repenting possible.

Jesus did decide to give himself up because he had the power to get out of it if he wanted to. All he had to do is not call him self the Messiah and he would not have been put in the situation. So yes he did chose to die.

No, in Islam we believe that Allah (God) will never allow one of his prophets (Prophet Jesus - Peace be upon Him) to be subjected to such torture and pain. Allah loves his Prophets and will never allow that to happen. We believe he was raised to the Heavens and the person on the cross was not Jesus, but the one who betrayed him.

No he didnt. I think that because a religion was made involving him as the "savior", they played off his crucifixion as him dying for our sins.
