Yeah I have had some limited success, not bad for a 5'6 overweight guy in LA, have met tall asian models, curvy women, and a few pychos.

I still consider several of these people I met friends.

But the odds are against you. As a guy you have to know how to communicate with the written word to women who are emotionally response beings, not logical like us guys. So touch her emotional button and you will have much better success with online dating. I suggest you check out a few online dating sites like David Deangelo or net2bed.com

I know a lady who was dating online with this guy that lived in a different country. The guy came to America where she was and they got married. I dont think shes really happy. She has a baby girl thats near 1yr but she was actually forced to have that baby cuz her husband wanted it. She didn't want a baby period.
Personally.. i dont think online dates are good. Not for marriage.

success meaning going out on dates, sure. But finding your true love, doubtful. My friend and I tried it at the same time. She found a great guy that she is still with after 14 months through eharmony. But I never found anybody but losers on some other sites.

Too bad they don't guarentee success.

I've wondered that , myself. I read in the newspaper about couples who met on line getting married all the time. I'm guessing it may depend on the site. If it's something like e harmony or something, you may have a better shot than you would with sites that are more about casual dating and sex than they are about committed couples.

More importantly, I guess it doesn't matter whether it's On line or not. Web sites may make it easier to contact compatible people, but you still deal with the normal hardships of dating.

I have actually meet a couple of great guys on-line. It's been fun but you have to be really careful. Meet in a public place the first time and don't give out info about yourself that would help the person find out where you live. I did have one stalker which wasn't fun. Luckily, he did not know where I lived but he did find my work.

I met my present partner online.....we clicked, chatted for hours online, then on the phone , and finally met. We have been seeing each other for 9 months now....are madly in love with each other and plan to move in together in the near future. Still can't believe I met him online though really. Not sth i have done before.

YES! Me... we have been together for a little over 2 1/2 years, and are talking of marriage. Also, my boyfriend's brother has been dating his girl for 3 years and they also met online. I would suggest eharmony.com as your best bet! Good Luck!
