I have called and called my local enforcement division to try to get them to do something here in oklahoma and they just keep draggin their feet..The child support is ordered to be paid through the state of Oklahoma...Can someone please tell me what else to do, short of hiring a lawyer?...Thanks!!

Lesa,

Below are a number of links to various sites that may be of help. I have headed each one so you will know the site destination.

Georgia Child Support Services:
http://ocse.dhr.georgia.gov/portal/site/DHR-OCSE/menuitem.f3ca900e75789bd18e738510da1010a0/?vgnextoid=4f9a10ad92000010VgnVCM100000bf01010aRCRD

Oklahoma Child Support Enforcement Division:
http://www.okdhs.org/childsupport/csservices.htm

US Department of Health and Human Services:
http://www.acf.hhs.gov/programs/cse/prgrpt.htm

The rest of the links that follow are to private child support recovery services. These can be very effective companies but I would caution against those who require upfront fees. There are a number of privatized collection/recovery services who will only expect their fees upon actual collection of unpaid support. Typically these types of collection companies will deduct up to 30% from the amount actually collected for their services.

Do not use a service that charges upfront fees, do your homework on it....try somewhere that only charges if they collect, yes they get like 1/3 of it, but at least you are getting something!
Also, if you know where they live and support is ordered, you can call the local court system or look online at it and file for a civil judgment to find him in contempt and have to pay the back support, then you can attach wages. Also the DMV in some states takes licenses.
Good luck. Ive been thru this personally and professionally (used to work for a lawyer), feel free to email me if you have more questions!

The squeaky wheel gets the grease. In other words bug your case worker until they do something, if no results go to their supervisor. Remember these are Federal enforcements so your state has to pursue his state. Don't get frustrated just keep bugging them till they do something. Do not take no for an answer. The other guy will be easier to locate if you have his SS# , last address, etc. Good Luck!

hay redneck girl we are twins.
go through the state for collection, or go to court remove them from collecting for you and take it into your own hands. put a lien on any property he owns, even if it's with another person. Report him to credit beauros (boy I can't spell that!) take him to small claims court first to get the court order stating he owes you the moola, even though you have an order, you have to prove to small claims court he has not paid you, and he has the opportunity to prove he's paid you. If you win, you have lots of legal options for collections. you can also take the easy way out and hire a collection agency after court but they will take a %

FIRST YOU NEED TO CALL CHILD SUPPORT AGENCY IN GA.
TELL THEM YOUR SITUATION AND START THERE. (TO GET THEIR NUMBER YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET IT FROM YOUR LOCAL ENFORCEMENT AGENCY) ALSO IF I WAS YOU I WOULD GO OVER MY WORKER'S HEAD AND TALK TO HIS/HER BOSS AND ASK WHAT THE DAMN PROBLEM WAS..ABOUT THE ONE THAT YOU'RE NOT SURE WHERE HE LIVES YOU HAVE TO PLAY DECTECTIVE YOUR SELF ...

? HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF "LEGAL AID" SOCIETY? CHECK AND SEE IF THEIR IS ONE IN YOUR AREA, THEY PROVIDE REPRESENTATION FOR LOW INCOME FAMILIES.
THEIR IS A FEE BUT IN THE LEAST IT WON'T BE THAT MUCH.
