I'm a Believer, but my soon-will-be ex-boyfriend is an atheist, and he doesn't believe in God because he only believes in what you can see, and he thinks religion is too restrictive. It's not if you try to see things from the Lord's point of view, but I do confess, I can't be any guy's servant and he be my master because there's too many abusive freaks out there, and women don't get the respect we deserve.
I agree it has to do with Satan, and people find Satan's ways SO much more fun. But for those who don't believe in God, how did we come about, how did the world and things in it get created? It sure did not come out of thin blue sky!

Well as for as the Idea of god, to me there is nothing wrong with having a god, however the very though of people automatically becoming sinners at birth is because the church will not stop preaching and practicing sin. Sin (missing the mark) on what, if I say I believe in God, and know I can not be perfect as god, then how did I miss the mark, if you need money and I share some with you, how is that missing the mark, if I got drunk with drunk people then went home and went to sleep how did I miss the mark, I try to help people all the time, so how is that missing the mark. I am not perfect, because I am not god, but I am perfect to God, he created the universe but he did not go to great lengths of how he did it, so evolution, aliens, and anything else you can think of is possible.
Look at the history of the human mind, it's just as gullible now as it was 2000 years ago, so we are not anymore god like today as they were 2000 years ago. The bible and all it's passages, why is it we depend on someone else opinion of what they really mean?
People on this Earth judge a person's worth, by the amount of money they have, if you think I'm ling, then try this
Apply for a job where the owner is poor and has no money to pay you, would people elect a poor man or woman that's living on minimum wage for president, maybe you would but, no one will know he is running because he has no ones money to back him
So money is sin why, you will most likely miss the mark and not get rich

Is there a question in there? Which interpretation of the New Testament would you have us believe? Did you know that there are several other major world religions that people believe in as much as you do your own? What makes yours so special? So all I have to do is believe in Jesus and I get to go to heaven? Maybe you should read his words or the interpretations of his words and get back to me on that. He was talking about spiritual issues that are much deeper than picking a stupid religion to root for. The new testament was also written years after Jesus was alive. The contents of the new testament was also fought over and decided upon by people, not God and certainly not Jesus. Evolution is a joke? Please, read a book besides the bible. Listen to someone other than your preacher. Go visit a natural history museum. Have an open mind. God gave us the power to think as well as the power to believe. America gave us the freedom to believe and practice our own religions as we see fit and I would never be a part of yours, even though I very much do believe in Jesus. I also believe in evolution. There is no contradiction in that. You can have intelligence, a critical mind and faith all at the same time.

I believe what I believe. Nothing has convinced me. That's the simple truth for me.
And by the way, Darwin did NOT recant his theory. This is an apocryphal story first presented by a friend of Darwin's (Lady Hope), who said she'd been at his deathbed and heard him recant. However, his daughter, who WAS at his deathbed, said Lady Hope was never there and this never happened.
He did, however, say "I had no intention to write atheistically. But I own that I cannot see as plainly as others do, and as I should wish to do, evidence of design and beneficence on all sides of us. There seems to me too much misery in the world."

I was raised a Christian and, to be honest, felt absolutely nothing spiritually while I was one. I decided that it wasn't the right religion for me and researched others. I found that Wicca is a good religion that teaches love, compassion, harming no one, not even yourself, religious and social tolerance, all of the things that I believe strongly in, and wonder of wonders, a majority of those who are Wiccan actually practice these beliefs instead of being hypocritical. I was not able to reconcile my personal beliefs with the things that were being taught to me in church, but they fit in perfectly with Wicca. I'm sorry that you don't think that I made a good choice, but it is mine to make. I will not regret it after death, as I will be sent into my next life after a good fulfilling life this time around.

I dont believe because in my mind God cannot logically exist. I was raised catholic, but I chose to not be because it didnt make sense. And Darwin didnt come up with evolution. Darwin was survival of the fittest. Did you even take biology in high school?

I encourage you to leave it the hell alone, and let people do what they want. Why don't I believe? Because the natural state of a person is to NOT believe in something until there's a least a little evidence proving otherwise. Oh sorry, the natural state of a SANE person, that is. And I don't doubt, I disregard.

You speak about the "ideas of men." So who do you think came up with religion? Man did. The bible is just another book written by people.

I like your question. So why do I reject God and his word? Well its not really that I don't believe, its that I just don't like him or his word or his savior. In fact I despise it and all that willingly follow it. So yeah I believe there is a possibility that there is a God, but even so I reject him and his paradise.
