There is one MAIN reason...IT'S FREE! Other than that, there are no viruses, and if you are knowledgeable about it, it is extremely configurable. If you are thinking of making the switch, definitely go with Ubuntu - free, good support, reliable, easy to use, etc.

free software like open office "usually free"
you can do more things directly unlike windows
a lot of virus won't affect Linux because they are designed for windows.
