i would shorten it and add layers. a styled bob, or sling bob always looks nice with thick hair.
i never know what to do when iam ready to get my hair cut. So i just go to a reputable salon, and ask the stylst to do whatever she thinks will suit my face, shape, and hair texture. I have yet to be let down. And the good thing is, no matter how short she goes, theres always a different way of styling it, and it will ALWAYS grow back.
Its fun to just sit back and watch what happens. just make sure you go to a good salon, not something dumb like supercuts or whatever. expect to pay around 30 bucks, it'll be worth it.

I have super duper thick hair and I always get it thinned at a salon. That is what I would do if I were you so that it would be more managable and not so weighed down. Another thing would be to have it in long layers (short hair and thick hair just dont go togeather). Dont go too short because it might be a total shock to you and you might be dissappointed.
Since your hair is dark maybe you could have someone put some highlights in your hair since it is summer. You can check out some magazines while you wait and ask the hairdresser to make your hair look more like what you had seen in the mag. Just some suggestions. It is what I do with my hair and I love it! My avatar and I do not have the same locks by the way!

Go for something short which has been cut in layers and thinned out a little. I believe the simple bob is coming back and it is perfect for the summer.
It can be so versatile and sexy depending on the cut. Add a little colour and "wit woo" a gorgeous new you.........Of course, don't forget to buy a whole new outfit with matching shoes and bag to match your new look!!

in case you may have sufficient money it, getting it chemically straightened will be your maximum appropriate option. a specialist hairstylist would also allow you to understand in case your hair is broken and what to do. in case you would somewhat attempt a house treatment, use some specialist grade go away-in conditioner (ideally with some type of damage fix) for a minimum of a week. attempt to face up to straightening it as mush as conceivable- perchance positioned on it up at the moment. Then, bypass again to straightening and use Garnier Fructis comfortable & Shine Anit-Frizz serum- that's provided in somewhat round eco-friendly bottle. it quite works properly to comfortable frizz yet would not go away hair greasy. Mousse is likewise an option selection and far less demanding. i love the Pantene professional V variety. merely positioned it on proper when you get out of the bathe and your hair will seem moist and perchance somewhat wavy. reliable success!

I've got the same kind of hair. I'm heading to middle school soon and my mom fixes me up like a fat baby. Age and interests make a difference.

You should get it cut up to the top of your shoulders and get it layered. You can still have a ponytail or pigtails.
