people seem really defensive. i think your questions make them nervous. they dont want thier precious world of fantasy to shatter. I whould say the bible is full of nasty passages. Lets not forget that despite the ten commandments including not having other gods......they diefied Jesus something that goes against the bible and its questionable ethics. and both testaments condone slavery. If the christians had enough political power they whould try for another Dark Age or witchtrial. Never trust a religion whose ultimant goal is the end of the world.

Dracula's love was an abomination. Christians drink wine as a substitute. Or is this a Romeo and Juliet scenario? In the end, either B. Stoker's book, Sheakspeare's play, or the Bible will be the only story remembered. If your unconditional love is that permanent, then you've made a good point.

The Bible doesn't prevent people from unconditional Love. People in the bible had free will to choose to love or not to just like you do. If you love God and his word then you will have unconditional love.

How do you think it prevents it anyway?

I don't think it prevents unconditional love. It tells you to love everyone regardless of who they are. Despite the antics of some folks who call themselves Christians, it doesn't tell you anywhere in the Bible to hate those who have different beliefs or morals. In the end God will judge us. It's His job. Not ours.

I wonder sometimes if it is!

But really the bible is teaching us that no one could follow all those laws to be close to God. That was Jesus point in being mean and teaching it to it's full extent. He lived under the law. The new covenant of grace and peace was not in effect until after His death.

We are all one, we are all equally righteous under grace. Paul knew this, Jesus knew this. The apostles either didn't quite get it or they chose to mix in law and fear for their own church's benefit.
