Both issues are the business of South Africa. He was possibly trying to avoid entangling the US in another country's business.

And Mandela was no Gandhi. He was quite willing to use violence to achieve his aims.

First, voting against Mandela is NOT racism. Racism is the belief that one race is superior to others. Period. So, because your definition is wrong, your statement is wrong. You really should learn the English language.
